Personal Bio

Born in England and raised in Newfoundland, Hilary joined the Bayview Animal Hospital in 1991. She immediately knew she had found her niche, enjoying working with caring pet owners and a small dedicated health care team. In 2001 she became the first female to join the Bayview/Alta Visa Animal Hospital partnership and became the Director of the Bayview hospital shortly thereafter. Hilary enjoys the many challenges of veterinary medicine and loves the connections that working with pets, their families, and a great team, bring to her life. "Looking after a pet through all the stages of their life, in health and in illness, is not simply a job to the Bayview team, we are invested emotionally in our work". Outside of work Hilary spends her time with her two teenagers, her husband and their quirky Brussels Griffon, "Parker". She can often be found running in the great outdoors.

Professional Bio

Hilary graduated with a BSc. from Memorial University of Nfld and obtained her DVM in 1988 from the University of Guelph. She has a particular interest in pain management and is a member of the International Academy of Veterinary Pain Management. Hilary is an Accredited Practice Member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and she enjoyed one of her proudest moments when the Bayview Animal Hospital was awarded second place in the AAHA Accredited Practice of the Year Awards for 2010.
