Professional Bio

Dr. Seidler has worked at Bayview Animal Hospital since May 2006, and it is by far the most challenging and rewarding position she has ever held. She loves being able to use her skills and knowledge to help pets live longer and happier lives. Pet owners have a unique bond with their animals, giving her a real sense of achievement when she feels she has contributed to the ongoing health of their pet. Rebecca's passion is surgery. It gives her a profound sense of satisfaction to perform a surgery that will directly improve the quality of life of an animal, whether it is removing a tumour, taking out bladder stones or extracting a painful tooth. Rebecca is also very interested in dentistry. Dental health is an area that is often neglected and she has lost track of the number of clients amazed at how much happier their pets are after having dental problems taken care of. Rebecca has a very active 4-year-old Lab X named Korma, who keeps her busy hiking, canoe camping and managing her pet's ongoing onslaught on her yard.

Professional Bio

Rebecca graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London, England in 2003. On graduating she flew straight to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to take up a large animal medicine internship at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. On successful completion of this year, she accepted a position in a mixed animal practice in Manitoba, where she quickly discovered that she found small animal work extremely rewarding. From challenging medicine cases to dental health, emergency surgery to successful weight loss programs, Rebecca found that there was no job she would rather do. With this in mind, Rebecca decided to move into small animal practice. She moved to Ottawa and the rest, as they say, is history.
